Who's interested in going to NOLA this summer as a volunteer to help with the post-Katrina mess? It would be fun to meet up and it would be excellent to use our Ander-obsession for social good. We probably need to do this under the auspices of a charitable organization like Habitat for Humanity or Common Ground. What say you, Anderfans?

i am hoping to be at a new job by then, or that my boss will have his evil soul sucked out by aliens and replaced with a nicer one by then. somehow, someway, i will be there for this. it sounds really fun, and it will be good to be able to help out with such a great cause. not to mention, anderson might get word of what we're doing, and decide to check it out himself. :)

I would love to be able to do this, but I'm not sure I'd be able to gather the resources. I'm more than willing to try, though.

I could possibly go, I'm more for the NY trip though.

If we can figure out logistics, cost, and time frame. . .I'd be up for it.

Oh also. . .a good organization is always Habitat.

i think going through habitat is good. they'd probably do a lot of the organizing.

I think this is a great idea, and exactly something Anderfans should do. But, much as I would like to go, I already have a bunch of work-related travel this summer, a family reunion and one holiday in planning for almost a year. However, if you end up deciding on dates when I could go, I know I have enough points to fly and would do what I could to get there.

(I've contributed financially to Habitat for Humanity and think it's an excellent charity; the other organization you mentioned I'm not familiar with.)

i would like to go. am gonna drive down, so will have a car.

I'd only be able to if others from MN want to carpool, 'cause when I'm there, I don't have a car and don't think my parents would be able to part with one of theirs for over a week. I def. won't have the money for plane tickets, unless someone actually gives me more than $10 for my birthday. *Is* there anyone from Minnesota here? Western Wisconsin? Northern Iowa (haha)? If starspecting *drives* there, Minneapolis might be sort of on the way...

Oh, I would love to go though. (I didn't say that before...oops) I've never been there.

I definitely can't afford a plane ticket either, so if I went I'd have to drive. And sleep under a bridge, most likely, but you know, it's the thought that counts, helping out the world and all. I need a general date and then I'll try my best!

Driving to Minneapolis is pretty much on the way (just a few hours more, I think). So, if there were more people from that area, then gas would be even cheaper, and I would much less poorer!

My van can fit like a million people in it anyway. Seriously. Respect the Shaggin Wagon, yo!
